Hi, can anyone recommend any free antivirus software that I can download to my daughter's laptop please?
Thanks.

I use Avast. Others like AVG. Others still like Comodo.
You'll get as many recommendations as there are free AV products.

If she's running Windows 8 she doesn't need anything (in theory anyway) as the system includes Microsoft Security Essentials or to be more accurate the functionality of MSE is now included in Windows Defender.0

Microsoft essentials will cover it all.0

Microsoft essentials gives people a false sense of security when it in fact, hardly detects anything. Best bet is either, AVG or Comodo. Avast is OK but I feel misleads people in to believing their AV has expired and to continue to use the Avast one you need to pay, when you actually don't. So I stick with AVG or Comodo.0
