Where to deposit funds from house sale?

Hello. We have recently sold our home :j and are looking to buy another, but are renting in the meantime. I need to figure out the best way to spread the money so that 1) we get the highest interest 2) it is safe and 3) it is available within 3 months (at least- sooner if poss).
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Pretty much limited to instant access then, so maximum rate is currently about 1.7%, just look at the recommendations on this site.

Dependent on the sum if it is greater than £85k, or 170k if a couple, then either split it or put into national savings.
