PPI Claim Advice - No details

Hi, apologies if this kind of question has been answered before!
I took out a car loan several years ago with the Cooperative, it may now even be over 10 years ago. I was definitely mis-sold as I was told that I wouldn't be able to have the loan without the PPI.
I have checked and cannot find any paperwork and the load has long been paid off.
It has been niggling me for a while now and am just after some advice on what I should do now? Can I make a claim? and if so how do I go about it with no definite details? Any advice would be appreciated.

You can put in a complaint if you feel you were mis-sold. You dont need details as long as the lender can find you. Older cases may well be harder to find. Your complaint reason is weak (its a unprovable allegation). However, with loans, there are often other failings that result in success.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
