"Free" Zabadak hotel weekend

I have just "won" a free zabadak hotel weekend via a local security company that i did a telephone survey for. A man came round and gave me the voucher and offered "free" setup for security from this firm http://safeandsecure24.com/about-us.html

says I have to pay for meal that is all. Anybody done this?????

I am very skeptical. This is there website https://www.zab.co.uk good isn't it. Would love to hear from anybody who has been on one of these "free" holidays.

It all seems really odd I cant believe they want to give me free security and a holiday............

Is that the zab.co.uk that dead-ends on page 1?

You may just pay for meal/meals but that would suggest the meals are overpriced, the rooms an afterthought and says nothing about location or amenities. If a hotel has to fill itself by using promotions like this, it doesn't bode that well TBH. I doubt he'll have paid anything (or anything meaningful) for the voucher, in fact depending on where the hotel's supposed to be, some might actually pay them a commission for sales!

Yes I've been on them before.
You have to pay for food at hotel prices e.g. £40 per person for evening meal and breakfast. Drinks wouldn't be included (except at breakfast).

    There's nothing suspicious.
Hotels make a profit on that. Most people aren't going to sit there and drink tap water. Most people will at least buy drinks and possibly side-dishes/extras.
They still make a profit if it's say £80 for 2 people for evening meal plus breakfast (say £27 dinner, £13 breakfast).

You might find availability of dates is limited and of course you shouldn't expect to get the best rooms.

You can have some pretty cheap weekends away if you can be flexible with dates.

Of course this assumes you would normally pay that kind of money for a 3-course meal in a restaurant. If you normally dine at McDonalds or KFC then you might find it pricey.

The only real downside is that you have to eat at the hotel every night, but otherwsie there's no particular catch. They can make money selling meals and drinks at those prices.

They only offered you free "setup".
What are the on-going costs and how long are you tied in??
  • thanks for that... I suppose it may be worth it for the cost of the meal then.

I didn't ask about the security side as I "won" the holiday whilst at my parents (whilst they're on holiday.)

I told them it wasn't my house but they still came round with the free (price of a meal) break.

mmm bit worried if I go on it I will have to fork out loads of extras o well i shall see.

Well only if you choose to buy wine or drinks.
    That's down to you.
Most people would have drinks with their meal but the cost of drinks is largely dictated by your choices.

    I don't think you'll have a problem.
