Hi i was wondering what people used for nappie bags for adults with incontinence problems .
We've been using carrier bags and am not looking forward to the 5 p charge per bag when it comes in . So hence the question

lots of supermarkets sell scented pedal bin liners with tie handles.
i use them for my bin in the bathroom. i buy them on a roll from ALDI and they cost about £1 a roll

I wonder if the charges for plastic carrier bags actually gets going. I have not seen any sign of that as yet. But if you need to use my substantial collection of used plastic carrier bags, for adult nappy bags, please let me know, I will post them to you with pleasure, at least they are being recycled and continue to be useful to the end, seriously.

You can also use those bags you put loose veg in from the supermarket, empty bread bags, old newspaper works a treat before putting straight in bin too.

forgot to add those charity bags that seem to be left every day where I live are good too - can add other rubbish in given the size of them for the general house hold rubbish bins.

My council, and perhaps many others, has a pickup service and provides disposal bags.

My son wears a small adult size pull up. If they are rolled and sealed with the tape that is on the back, they fit into some nappy bags. I think the ones I'm currently using are from the pound shop. Tesco bags are on the small side though. You might have to try a few to find which brand sells the size you find most suitable, but they are usually fairly cheap to buy.

If we are at home, though, I don't bother with bags. I have a flip top kitchen bin outside the door, and every week a chap from medical waste services at the council collects it. They provide a yellow medical waste bag and a cable tie. I just have to tie the bag with the cable tie before 8.30am each Thursday and put it outside the front door. The chap pops a new bag and tie through my letter box. On the odd occasion that I have forgotten, he has still taken the bag and provided a new one - he's just taken it out of the bin himself.

There is no charge for this service at my local council - they prefer adult continence products to be collected separately, rather than put into the general bins. I think they incinerate them.

Charter Healthcare provide bags for free with the Peristeen kit that I use, as well as wet wipes, dry wipes, water sprays and alcohol gel. I only have to ask for them when ordering.

I buy 500 plastic carrier bags from Amazon £4.75, we are in Wales and have been paying the 5p for a couple of years, you do get used to it, and I always seem to have carrier bags in my handbag.

I really cant see the difference with my usage, because I used to use the old carrier bags in my kitchen bin, now I buy them in lots of 500 for the same purpose.
