incapacity, contributions and means testing question

i've never made contributions due to unemployment all my adult life because of mental illness .i've survived on savings and income from a few investments made on my behalf.my GP said i should get incapacity benefit .am i entitled? i am by no means rich but would probably not qualify if it were means tested. can anyone tell me if i'd be eligeble?

It depends on your age and your circumstances if you can receive Incapacity Benefit, the following link tells you all about it:

If you have less than £16000 pounds in capital and savings you may be able to claim Income Support due to Incapacity.0 -
If you haven't worked in the last 2 years & paid no national insurance contributions then you won't qualify for Incapacity benefit. You would have to claim income support, which is means tested.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
