Might lose my job soon, can my family become homeless?

That's a load of rubbish. U cannot be sanctioned for sacked as dismissed is sacked.
You only get sanctioned if you do walk out of the job or resigned yourself.
Don't listen to princessdon.
Sorry - that's rubbish! If you have been dismissed and the Job Centre deem that it was your fault, they will consider a sanction. I think that if your benefit is sanctioned that you can apply for hardship allowance
Don't wait -get your HB claim and JSA claim in asap because if you delay, they won't backdate unless you show "good cause".... and inform the Tax Office to get your Child and Working Tax credits recalculated.
On a practical level, cut your spending with immediate effect - no meals/drinks out, takeaways, cook from scratch etc - it will all help stretch what you have for as long as possible.
Stay positive - hope ll goes well for you:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

Hi
What is your Local Housing Allowance? and how does that compare with the rent? When does your fixed term contract end?
Does your missus get any maternity pay? If so when does that end?
I'm in the process of sending off the forms, but I'm not sure. My rent for my property is £775, unlikely it will cover that. I think we have another 6/5 months on the contract at our current property.
My partner is on maternity leave, but without pay. That ends in about 4 months time.Princessdon is correct

If you were dismissed (‘sacked’)
If you were dismissed from your job, we’ll ask your last employer for the reasons. You will be able to comment on what they say.
Jobcentre Plus will decide whether you have lost your job because of your own actions. If we do decide that this is the case, you may lose your benefit for between 1 and 26 weeks.
Thanks for this, food for thought. I am thinking of fighting my dismissal, but at far as an outsider looking in can see, it was my fault and my error and I was bang to rights. A lot more to it than that however. I just wish I knew if I had a case.0 -
Protocol 45 - get in contact with ACAS they will be able to tell you your rights in cases like this. They cannot fight for you - but can give advice etc. We found them helpful when my OH was under same thing and we ended up with what is called a compromise agreement and a payoff. So although he was dismissed - his record was in effect not affected if he wished to get another job.0

Your benefits will be capped at £2,000 pm which is more than you earn now, so don't worry, you might even be better off!0

No. Just my luck that the youtube money has dried up. Maybe £30 a month, perhaps.
I've applied for housing benefit today and jobseekers will be done tomorrow. My landlord mentioned I could claim electricity/gas stamps for pay the bills? This was news for me.
I'm worried, because the benefit will cover the rent up to £750, great. But what about electricity, water, gas, food, and even my current debts. DFS sofa, £40 a month, TV £40 a month, mobile phone bill, Virgin Media £40. I hate to sound like I'm fishing for more. I just don't know how this all works, do I pay those off from jobseekers?0 -

Yes, your day to day outgoings should be paid from your JSA. You need to declare your YouTube income, even if it is a small amount.0 -
