I was just wondering if anyone else decorates wooden items e.g letters, plaques and keepsakes. I'd love to chat with others that make similar items to myself. Perhaps we could share hints and tips.

I have an online business making personalised gifts including wooden items like photo frames, signs, keepsake boxes etc. How long have you been creating wooden items?. Perhaps you could share some photo's and then others of us could share some of ours?V 12500 B 8300 N 1900 Oct £51/£1550

I started last year. I painted and decorated a number of wooden words like 'Dream' 'Home' 'Relax' for a a charity event. Due to health reasons I had to take a break but I've recently started again. I'm currently working on wooden letters.

Hi guys,
I also make wooden signs and things. I tend to use acrylic paints as there is no need for varnishing and they've even coped well outdoors. I use Reeves paints and if you layer the paints in different colours then you can sand the edges for a great shabby look too
I also design the wooden shapes and have recently learnt how to use the software myself so i can cut out anything, it's great fun but is time consuming. I'm getting the hang of it slowly though
Sugar coated owl, love you word signs, they are very cute! x0 -
Hi everyone. I make wooden bits and pieces too! You can find my page in my profile. I try to mention what i use and where i bought it from as often a possible. I've really struggled to find the best suppliers and it seems to be the best ket secret amongst crafters. Spent soooooo much money trying to figure out the best materials etc. A bit happier these days but would love to hear other people's tips.
OH has taken the kids out for morning so im beavering away trying to finish bits and pieces off.0 -
