Bio Ethanol fires

Dear lovely MSErs
I am interested in buying a bio ethanol fireplace e.g. http://www.imaginfires.co.uk/category/free-standing-fireplaces/Rotun-black-bioethanol-fireplace.php
Does anybody have one that could give feedback on them? I understand they generate heat but that isn't my key priority. I'm worried they may se off smoke alarms but the FAQ on the website suggests not.
Would welcome any feedback on them.
