Outlook Express problem

I'm suddenly having problems opening Outlook Express - i.e. it won't open, but instead I get the message - "Cannot open your default e-mail folders. Errors have been detected ... "
I've posted previously about problems I've had opening Outlook in the past but a different message came up then plus what worked then doesn't work now.
Does anyone have any idea what I should do ? Help !

But that refers to Outlook 2007 which is a rather different animal to Outlook Express.
I don't think Outlook Express uses the .pst file format, and I wouldn't think the Outlook 2007 Inbox Repair Tool would work either.0 -
I have just answered this and forgot to put that 2gb is the maximum dbx file size0

I'm bad!:embarasse
I've gone away from outlook, to web based - as it was too much trouble
however http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1176/~/how-do-i-repair-a-corrupt-outlook-express-inbox%2Foutbox%3F
a better explanation with a link to software that may fix it, but it costs http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-windows_programs/outlook-express-repairrecovery-of-corrupted-dbx/8bbcc787-4d6c-4bed-89f4-96c4d0a4e7be
and another possible fixer http://www.diskinternals.com/mail-recovery-express/0 -
Thanks for your help everyone. Unfortunately, nothing worked so I had to go back and restore Outlook to a point last week ! Thankfully, that worked and it then uploaded all my emails for the entire week but I did lose a week's load of Sent emails. Guess I'll never see those again
