Traveling Dublin to holyhead

Hi all im looking for a cheap way to do a single trip in a small car from Dublin to UK using the Ferry. It will be myself and 1 other passenger both aged 25 if that matters. Im looking for the cheapest possible way. It has to be in the car, so flights are out. In the late afternoon 5:00pm is the earliest time. Does anyone know of discounts or vouchers ect that can reduce the price. I don't want anything fancy.

There are only two options, so sign up to Irish Ferries and Stena's offers, the lowest fare I can see at present is 89 Euros each way but only available Tuesday and Wednesday if you book 4 weeks in advance. Not surprisingly, Stena's lowest fare appears to be exactly the same!
  • Sorry i forgot to mention i wanted it for Saturday 28th September

Well that is rather important, no advance booking deals 10 days before departure and travelling on a Saturday night you really just have to compare the prices on the two websites. Many people say it is cheaper to fly and rent a car in the UK but if you are travelling with a lot of luggage you may have limited options. This should have been booked a long time ago
  • You've left it far too late to get a good deal.

Stena line have €180 leaving at 21:15 arriving 00:45 the next day, or €190 leaving 08:05, or Irish Ferries have an express ferry leaving at 14:30 for €221

Have you got any Tesco clubcard vouchers? They're worth 3x the value on both Stena and Irish Ferries, but you'd need to act sharpish.
  • Thanks all for your help i decided against traveling to Dublin but appreciate your comments
