Combi Boiler Issue - Advice Needed

I'm looking for some advice on fixing my Worcester Bosch combi boiler.
After returning from a weekend away, I turned on the hot water tap in the kitchen, to find there was no hot water.
On inspection, it looked like there was no electricity getting to the boiler and with further investigation it turned out that the internal 2A fuse had blown.
I replaced this, turned the power back on and thought the boiler would fire back up as normal but it did not.
After making a request for Domestic Hot water (DHW) the warning light starts to flash after approximately 45secs. The same happens when turning on the Central heating.
Is there something obvious that I'm missing?
I've phoned the manufacturer, who've quoted me £315 for a one off repair charge.
I'd hate to have to pay all that money out if it were just a simple problem.
I'm also dubious about taking out a cover plan with British Gas/HomeServe/N-Power etc, due to a very bad experience with one of them a couple of years ago.
Any help would be gratefully received.

Have you tried this? Obviously not professional advice, could wait for someone else to post.
If you fill it back up and it drops immediately, I think you then have a bigger problem.0 -
Likewise I'm no profesional, but from past experience, the pressure at 1bar is correct (going up to 1.5bar/1.75bar when CH is on) so I don't think its needs re-pressurising.0

Indeed sounds fine. Not familiar with WB boilers. Its also unlikely that there is a condensate pipe blockage at this time of year.
Is there some kind of boiler reset procedure? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Which model of WB combi? How old is it? Some will have a 5 year warranty.
To state the obvious, it sounds like an electrical fault that has caused the fuse to blow, possibly a PCB issue.
Get a local independent GSR RGI out who knows his WB's.
Service plans do not cover pre-existing faults. No free lunch, and no free laptop

The boiler is 7 years old and is a WB 28i Junior.
Thanks for advice on GSR, its very useful. There are about 6 engineers within a couple of minutes of me.
I spoke with a heating engineer who suspects it will be the PCB that will need replacing. He says it should be £200 including parts and labour, which sounds reasonable to me.0 -
Update: Heating Engineer turned up on Saturday and fixed the boiler. The problem was with the fan, which had developed a fault which blew the internal 2A fuse. He installed a new fan, so including parts and labour, the job was carried out for £140 (SW London).0

That's a reasonable rate for London. And less than half what you would have paid WB.No free lunch, and no free laptop
