Somewhere for a lovely high/afternoon tea. Daughters 18th in October so thought I would take her to Bath for the day as part of her celebration week. Really want to take her for a "posh" high tea or afternoon tea. Anyone recommend anywhere please !

How about the Royal Crescent Hotel http://www.royalcrescent.co.uk/
Or The Priory http://www.thebathpriory.co.uk/ which is slightly further out of town
Nearby you could go to to Combe Grove http://www.pumahotels.co.uk/hotels/combe-grove-manor-bath-hotel/ instead, nice views over countryside
Alternatively in the city centre the Pump Rooms http://www.romanbaths.co.uk/food_and_drink/pump_room_restaurant.aspx is quite fancy
For the hotels it's worth checking out beforehand if they're doing an afternoon tea. Personally I'd go to the Priory as they have the nicest lounge, if it's going to be cold weather, although the restaurant is a bit bland. Royal Crescent Hotel has best sense of occasion, though.0 -
some friends of mine were at Bath a few weeks ago and had a fantastic time! will ask them what they liked and report back to this thread

Thank you, the Pump rooms and the Royal Crescent look lovely. Will be going by train from Taunton, so ones actually in Bath would be fab.0

The Pump Rooms is very central, built on top of the Roman Baths with views over them, and right beside the Abbey
The Royal Crescent is a short but real walk from the train station - good if you plan on seeing some of the city's famous landmarks anyway! The Royal Crescent Hotel is right in the centre of the crescent, and looks anonymousish from the front...could make for a nice surprise if you walk up there then suddenly turn into one of the doorways and go through to the gardens at the back. They also have quite a nice day spa, as day spas go.0
