Delaying minimum payment for a month?

I have a Tesco credit card with £1200 on it which I repay 90 off minimum each month. Normally with an extra 100-200 chucked on during the month if have it spare. Problem is I'm in between jobs this month and I wont get paid until the end of next month.

Would it be possible to delay the payment for this month? Or is this a complete no-no?

Not really, even if you were to get a payment arrangement for this then it would count even more against you.

£12 charge. Impaired credit file. Possible of future credit limit reduction and/or rate rise.

    Up to you.
  • Take the hit from your bank for the overdraft. It'll cause you less long-term problems!

either use an OD or draw cash for a CC and then pay it back in
  • Iv already been in to see about an overdraft, I'm not eligible as I've only a bog standard basic account. The only option is to take the £12 hit :(

  • Or take cash out on the card, as suggested above.

If you've got a Tesco CC I'm sure you could open up any bank with an Overdraft.
  • Really? I never thought of opening another bank account? I doubt id be allowed though as I'd essentially be straight into the overdraft.

Zx81 : I cant take cash out on the card, the limits at 1200 so im all maxed out. :/

In that case you may also find yourself hit with another charge for going over your credit limit, once the first fee is added.

I think applying for another bank account with overdraft sounds like a good option.
  • Oh !!!!!! MisterMotivated, your right .... 12 late fee and an over the limit fee!
