It is in the ops case, had there been insurance that was known about, the debt would have been repaid and the op would not have to have repaid this.
The "not knowing" is proof of mis sale, had the op known then a claim would have been made I am sure.0 -
It's important to remember, amongst all the supposition, that the OP still does not know if her late husband had PPI. Finding out has to be the first priority, there can't be any mis-sale if it wasn't sold in the first place! It is in the ops case, had there been insurance that was known about, the debt would have been repaid and the op would not have to have repaid this.0 -

It's not proof of anything though. Number one if there actually was insurance (big if) then it was obviously sold to the OP's husband not to her. So he might have been fully aware of it but not mentioned it to her (I should stress life cover is only an add on to PPI and not the main purpose of it). The other thing is if I had a quid for every person I've seen willingly take out PPI but then simply forget about it over the years I'd be able to buy the whole forum a round! Especially on loans where there's no monthly statement showing it to remind you.0 -

It's not proof, it is some evidence towards that conclusion, but people forget all sorts of things...0
