Who are they, and what is this 'again' that belongs to them? Where can I buy an again?earthstorm wrote: »but their again who would pay 5p for a supermarket carrier bag if they remain as they are now
If you want a suggestion as to who might pay 5p for a supermarket carrier bag, how about: someone who values being able to carry their shopping out of the shop at more than 5p?0 -

We've had to pay for carrier bags in Wales for some time now. Tbh it was annoying at first, but now we all know to take bags with us. Most people have a selection of bags for life, which are replaced free of charge anyway, and most women keep a handy-bag in their handbags all the time. It's cut down on a lot of waste, and it's a bit like the smoking ban, seems odd at first, but soon becomes normal. Now we find it a novelty anytime we're in England and get given things in free carrier bags. You always know the people from Wales, they're the ones going "oooo, free bags, we forgot you still get them in England". We're just environmental trail blazers this side of the Severn Bridge :-)"I AM DEATH, NOT TAXES. I TURN UP ONLY ONCE."- Terry Pratchett0

If they are biodegradable/degradable will they then not be perishable?⚠ 2014 - COUNTDOWN TO INDEPENDENCE ⚠0 -
The 5p charge is on the single use bags. Here in NI it's a tax that is passed on to the environment agency. If you buy a 15p multi use bag there is no charge0

I thought the bags were bio degradable! That makes them perishable goods. Now whatscheming_gypsy wrote: »What if we get online shopping delivered? can we return them for a full refund under the distance selling regulations?0 -
I would suspect that shops will just replace a faulty bag. They cost them next to nothing.0

Oops. Badly worded
There is no 5p tax added to the 15p bag
Because its not the supermarkets selling a once free bag for 5p,it's an added tax. In Wales it's charities who benefit. Here it's the envoitment agency. The latest news here is they are raising it to 10p next year0
