Wedding Nightmare with Thomas Cook

Hi there,
We recently booked our wedding/honeymoon with Thomas Cook - well when I say booked I mean blind-sided by the travel agent. I thought we were getting a quote but she was actually booking it - so I got blackmailed into having to pay the deposit of £600, or lose it if I backed out. It all happened really fast, but now I am really annoyed. I know I should have just got up and walked out, but I was worried we would be liable for the deposit.
What i'm wondering is - is it possible to ring Thomas Cook and tell them what happened and cancel the wedding without losing our deposit? I don't mind keeping the holiday, as it was a good price, I'm just annoyed that I booked the wedding so hastily without asking questions, and she booked it without actually asking me was I ready. Can I cancel the wedding and have the deposit transferred to the holiday?
Any advice would be great,
With thanks.

You will have to ask them: if this was in a shop then try going there in person and speaking to the manager.0

Black mail is a serious crime. Did the agent have some dirt on you? Either way you need to go to the police otherwise what's to stop this agent black mailing you again?0

At what point did you not realise considering you must have handed your card over?
Is this a wind up?0 -
Is this one of those arranged/forced marriages?
Get out while you can, Thomas Cook will having you living in a shed at the bottom of a garden in Hounslow if you're not carefulChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -

By the travel agent rather than the parents though.
You are going to have to be able to clearly articulate how you were "blackmailed" and why you paid for it if you didnt want it.
As others have said it either sounds like a windup or making up rubbish to try and get out of the sale.
The only bit of any possible truth in it is an agent saying that the prices are for "now" and that if you dont buy now they wont guarantee the same prices at a later date but that is fairly normal and wont be considered blackmail or undue pressure when the business is conducted in their shop0 -

It might be a wind-up, but I think it was the following:
OP wanted to book a holiday package and enquired about having a wedding arranged as well. She handed over her card to pay the deposit on the holiday, while taking away information about the additional wedding package. In fact both holiday and wedding were booked, with the deposit being applied to both.0
