Kitchen flooring

Hello - I'm getting a new kitchen as part of the extension and am considering flooring options. I want to avoid tiles (too cold) and wood/laminate and have been told that its possible to get a form of flooring that's very thick and hard wearing but I can't remember what it is!
Can anyone help me with this or recommend me some decent kitchen flooring?

Tia

Well there is Karndean, Amtico & Rhinofloor that you could consider. All good quality & with various designs & prices. Look at manufacturer's websites to get an idea of what designs are on offer.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • If you have anyone with average DIY skills, most floor guys will tell you were to get the stuff and how to do the job step by step.
No other trade does this, so fill yer boots.
    Be happy...;)
  • Marmoleum is great (comes in sheets or tiles). I have it in my kitchen and bathroom. It is a natural product (linseed oil I think), doesn't feel cold under foot and comes in gorgeous colours. You need someone who knows what they are doing to lay it though.

I find it very easy to clean (though one shouldn't go near it with bleach or chemicals). It is hard wearing stuff which is why it is used in commercial buildings.
