Hi we are considering rehoming a 5 year old labrador as his current family can no longer keep him. He sounds like a really lovely dog, but he will be our first. I would like to read a general book about dog ownership principles, can vs anyone reccomend one please? Thanks x

I bought a book called How To Train A Superdog and it was fantastic.
There are so many good sections such as training, walking off lead and aggression issues. It's also easy to read for children as it has lots of nice pictures.
Best of luck and well done on rehoming a dog. It's always so much more rewarding knowing you've given a much needed home to a rescue dog.0 -
I'd recommend you join a good dog forum, the one I'm on has been more helpful than any book.0
