NEXT refuse to refund for non supplied item

I can't see why Next can't deal with this.
Surely if you'd made a typo on the name of the account they would have exactly the same scenario. In this case it would be impossible to ever correct as the account holder wouldn't exist, so could never send ID.
There's nothing stopping them just cancelling the order and refunding the card - this is pretty much what they'd have to do anyway if it actually were fraud. Given they're been awkward about it, trying a chargeback may be the best solution.0 -
Chargeback it is then. I do not think anyone can withhold a payment without supplying product. How will they flag me up if they don't have MY details? I am not worried about my mum she's moved her residence abroad permanently.
They will know it's you, you live there and used you card, and have phoned them a lot to sort it out. It will all be recorded.
A chargeback will just see you in even more trouble and possibly your current account closed. This isn't them refusing to refund for the hell of it. They suspect some kind of fraud, so they will have investigations and processes to go through.
You may not care about you mum, but you are the one who will have the most problems.
For some unknown reason, you can't explain why you opened a next account in your mums name. Even if it is your Mum, you can't just open accounts in peoples names. That is ID fraud/theft. This is not some "typo" or mistake, you opened an account in your Mum's name, presumably using her details and just your address. It was deliberate.
So when you charge it back, NEXT explain their side of the story. How it they suspected it was a fraudulent account, as two account at one address, despite only you living there, you used your card details, you admitted to opening an account in your Mum's name, etc, etc. So they wanted the "real" account holder to contact them.
If you don't already have a fraud marker at that point, you will do then. If the bank don't immediately close your account. A lot of banks/creditors won't entertain someone whit a CIFAS marker for fraudulent activity for obvious reasons.
So why can't you tell you Mum about it?0 -

I don't have time or patience to deal with this and have other people involved it is mind numbing dumb to suggest such things and overdramatize the situation. They need to refund the card once they and I realised a mistake was made.
There is no over dramatics. If you opened an account in your Mums name, (which you still can't explain or why you can't just get her to ok it) they will investigate it. Which is why NEXT won't deal with you, it's not your account.
The only dumb thing is opening accounts in other peoples names.
I wish you luck, I think you're going to need it tbh.0
