Hi, not sure can someone clarify to me.
I have followed martin lewis guide to reclaiming bank charges. Since my account has now been closed. I wrote numerous letters to claim back bank charges. Had no acknowledgment at all from clydesdale bank untill i contacted the financial ombudsman and suprise suprise i got a letter from clydesdale bank asking me for a cheque of £10 or i can pay in branch to arrange this for me.
Is this right has anyone else had this before?
One of the points i clarified on is im in financial difficulty to which i feel im struggling to cope with. what should i do now?

The £10 is for a subject access request (i.e., you'll need the statements to details the bank charges - this is what Clydesdale are charging £10 for).
It's correct - pay it now, and when they send you the statements you need to follow the correct PPI reclaiming procedure.0 -

Reclaiming bank charges based on financial hardship only applies to current hardship cases, and current, main bank accounts (i.e. the one you have your income regularly paid into)
If you are struggling financially, I would urge you not to waste your tenner giving it to the bank, but rather spend it on putting food on your table.
If you are struggling to cope financially, pop over to the Debt Free Wannabe board, post your SoA there and I'm sure someone will help you futher

Its not PPI. Its bank charges that she is trying to reclaim.I have followed martin lewis guide to reclaiming bank charges.
Which is out of date and doesnt work since 2009. If you try unfair bank charges approach then you get the "we won the court case" style rejection. Even the FOS wont consider complaints on unfair bank charges any more (it even says that on their website).
Financial hardship cases are still considered. However, your account is closed. So, that wont apply to you unless it is recent.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
