My electricity account is with npower. However, the property didn't have an mpan number, so my landlord has been dealing with the bills. Last year they sent me an invoice which I paid.
Now they have told me that the mpan number has been sorted out and they are transferring the account to me, but the account is a business account and very expensive. Do I have to accept this? The property has been registered as a business address for over a decade, and had no mpan number throughout this period. Consequently I am the only tenant who has paid anything for electricity.
