EON online account is down?

I have been trying all afternoon to log into my account with EON as I submitted a meter reading online a little while back and heard nothing more from them. Hardly surprising as I believe they owe me money instead of me owing them! However I keep receiving a message the site is currently down for maintenance. I am surprised that this is during the day though and wondered if I was the only person experiencing this problem?

    I've just checked and can confirm it is down for me also with a message stating they are aware.

    I thought I read something about planned maintenance the other day, but I may be imagining that - or it may not have been on the EON website.

    Really sorry for all the problems with the website yesterday. We had various technical issues that meant it was down for a large part of the day.

    It's back up now but I'm afraid it's not quite up to scratch yet. There's still the odd intermittent problem and it's not running particularly quickly either.

    I've had a word with the technical guys and know work was going on throughout the night to sort this. They're going to let me know when it's fully fixed and I'll post on this thread again with an update as soon as I know.

    They've also told me that, once fixed, a full investigation will kick in to find the root cause so we can try to prevent a future repetition.

    Sorry again for all the inconvenience.

    What is it you're waiting to hear from us? Are you waiting for a bill to the readings you've given?

    Just a thought. If you submitted meter readings outside of the billing window and didn't request a bill, the readings would have been recorded but no further action would follow.

    For quarterly customers, the billing window is open 14 days either side of the next bill date. Readings entered during this period automatically create a bill.

    Also, if you've registered with our website, bills are only put online and not sent through the post.

  • Just a quick update on our website.

    Although things have improved gradually throughout the day, we've still had a couple of glitches. However, our technical team have identified the cause and have put in a fix.

    They're monitoring this as we speak and are confident things will be back to normal very quickly now.

    Will let you know more tomorrow.

  • As promised, another quick update on recent problems with our website.

    We've been monitoring it throughout the day and all has been stable. No further timeouts and page loading times have improved significantly.

    Looks as though the fix we put in yesterday has done the trick.
