Home Insurance and Credit Rating

Hi,
I have an urgent question that I can't seem to find the answer for anywhere!
My partner and I are unmarried but co-habiting. My credit score is good; his is terrible (he has outstanding CCJs against his name). We obviously therefore do not have any joint bank accounts or credit cards.
But what about home contents insurance? Can we safely take this out in joint names? My Partner thinks that because it is a "financial product" we must not, for fear it damages my credit report. Whereas I thought that the only joint things to be avoided were bank accounts and credit cards.
Can anybody clear this up for me? And if it is a bad idea to take out joint home insurance, will I have already damaged my credit report by taking out joint travel insurance with him?
Many thanks indeed

If you live in the same home permanently then normally you have to name all the occupants over 18 who share the property with you.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Well, we rent the property - we are both named on the tenancy agreement. Does that count?
Thanks!
