Capital One Rejected my PPI Claim - Please help

Hey All,
This is my first time posting on the MSE forum and unsure if this is the correct way to go about things or ask but I have recently sent in a claim for my PPI to be refunded on my Capital One Credit Card however it has been rejected? When I initially took the card I didn't request PPI but then then in a phone call 6 weeks later they state I said I wanted it over the phone? I can't remember this happening at all? Nor did I sign anything to say I wanted it. all they said is that it hasn't been missold as I was eligible at the time and that I would have received paperwork through he post giving me a 30 day 'cooling off' period? Who's to say I received this? And also they have no recording of the phone call?
Just wanting advice on whether or not to go back to Capital One or to go through the financial ombudsman?
thanks

Which means you cant really complain about anything said as you cant recall what was said. However, the vast majority of Cap One PPi sales were made this way. So, it is almost certainly correct.or did I sign anything to say I wanted it.
You dont need to.all they said is that it hasn't been missold as I was eligible at the time and that I would have received paperwork through he post giving me a 30 day 'cooling off' period? Who's to say I received this? And also they have no recording of the phone call?
Who is to say you didnt receive it? The fact is that unless you can prove otherwise, it will be accepted that it happened. They dont need a recording. They have a sales process and unless you can evidence that the sales process was breached then you dont have a case. Where allegations are made with no supporting evidence to support them, the complaint will fail on those points normally and instead, they will check for eligibility. If you were not eligible then they will uphold the complaint. If you were eligible then they reject the complaint.Just wanting advice on whether or not to go back to Capital One or to go through the financial ombudsman?
Cap One have an excellent reputation for complaints handling. The FOS only overturned 6% of complaints in the last 6 months of last year and 19% in the first 6 months of this year. The sales process Cap One used is deemed to be compliant. So, only if there is some identified wrong doing are you likely to succeed.
So, what evidence of wrongdoing do you have to supply the FOS if you decide to go down that route?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
