toilet/shower room

Any idea what sort of money it would cost to put a toilet and shower room into an existing utility room? I appreciate it depends on many thing, but a rough idea? £5k? £10k?

Do you mean to convert the utility in its entirety or to create a dual use space by room division?

Whats the size of the existing space?

Whats the access to existing hot and cold water supplies?

Whats the access to your foul drainage like? Is it adjacent?

    Cheers

create a dual use space by dividing off half of it. Existing space is 2.75m x 2.6m so would be a small bathroom. There is easy access to water supplies and drainage.

    Thanks

Cheers! vague idea was all I wanted and very useful
  • If you were expecting to pay £10k, I'd be very happy to come and do it for you, regardless of where in the UK you are (smiley face)!!!!!!!!!

But seriously, it really depends on:
    - how much you wanted to spend on the shower/cubicle - I would say £400ish would buy you a decent mixer shower, by a make such as Mira or Deva. For cubicles, decent ones start from £2-300
    - Whether you wanted a floor level tray or one raised on legs - floor level would necessitate changes to underground drainage etc raising cost
    - how much tiling you wanted, in cheap ceramic or solid marble???

If you allowed £1k to cover all sanitaryware, pipework, fittings, tiles, for decent stuff you wouldn't be too far off.

You'd probably be looking at 4-5 days work if shower cubicle area was going to be properly tanked before tiling as well.

ballpark estimate 2-2.5k, but obviously only those guys near you could give a more accurate estimate/quote. Good luck!
