This is the e-mail I am sending bazster, thoughts?
Good afternoon,
I note that your car parking is managed by a private company, including enforcement. I wish to make the following request for information;
1) What safeguards/policies do you have in place to ensure that your duty of confidentiality to patients is not breached? For example, if I attend a hospital appoint in my company car and receive a Charge Notice via the post, this will be sent to the registered keepers address (i.e. My employer). This would then mean that my employer may challenge my fitness etc.
2) What safeguards/policies do you have in place to ensure that your duty of care to your patients is maintained? As I'm sure you are aware, the private parking company is an agent of yours. Many of these types of companies use tactics which are intimidating and cause harassment and distress. How do you, as a health care provider, ensure that the company you employ does not damage the mental health of those people it chases? Especially as these people may already be suffering serious illness and be vulnerable.
I have submitted this as a Freedom of Information request as it is a request for information on policy. If this information is available in the public domain then I am happy to accept a simple web link as a reply. I can also provide a postal address should the documents only be available in hard copy. If you feel that I have submitted this to the wrong department then I would be grateful if you could advise me which department it should be sent to.
Thank you for your time0 -
Looks good to me DR. I'm gonna do something similar by heavyweight snail-mail to the Chief Exec. Don't know why I never thought about it before, but with martmonk's splendid example in front of us it'd be good to get a domino effect going in the health service!Je suis Charlie.0
