Why did they refuse to pay if you were covered? Did you contest and put a formal complaint in?

There was a dispute between my solicitor and insurance company and I am in the throes of taking them both to court to reclaim the £10k

I can't understand why, if you had a "No win, no fee" claim, you had to pay when you lost. This makes no sense. The clue is in the name.

I wish 'no win, no fee' DID mean that - because of the information that my solicitor gave the insurance company they refused to pay, making me liable to pay the defendant's costs. I am now in the process of taking both the original solicitor AND the insurance company to court to try and reclaim the £10k. It has been an absolute nightmare for the past 2 years.
