British Gas Homecare 200 - what a complete joke!

For the first time I had to called out this outfit... and to be honest what a complete joke it has turned out to be!

My Bolier has started to plan funny last week where the heating comes on with the hot water (combi boiler) and called them on Friday 1st of this month. Earliest they could me in was for Friday 8th of this month... since I still have hot water I said fine but I won't be present as my father would be home to let the engineer in. All fine and dandy... enginner came on the friday found the fault and told me dad that he will be back on Tuesday morning between 8am-12pm..

Roll on Tuesday, taken day off work.. waited, waited, waited.. now 2pm.. I called the helpdesk.... erm - where is the enigneer? Oh she does, its booked in for 4-6pm today... so I said... I lost a days worth of work for no reason? She said sorry..

So come 17:30 he turns up to fix the parts to the boiler, tested it by running hot water for 30seconds... all seems to be okay... until 20:30 when I wanted a shower for the evening.. The boiler broke down!! The errors started coming up on the screen with Flow Thermistor Error, and Primary Flow Error and the thing started to make a bad sound with a Flow overheat thermostat error..

Quicky turned it all off.. and restarted... now the bolier won't come out of Flow overheat thermostat error with a flame failure warning.. this is an a Baxi 130HE - stright on the phone to BG and the women said sorry (Im not in a happy mood now) Engineer booked to come for 8am to 12pm tomorrow (today)

Today, waited, waited and waited... went outside at 12:30 in the back garden to collect the eggs from the chickens... and found a card on the back door thrown on the floor (near the back gate). Sorry we missed you at 11:55 - !!!!!!!!!! I was in the living room all of the time in full view of the front window and he didn';t even bothered to go to the front door!!! let alone knock on the window or ring the bloody door bell.

Stirght onto the phone.. they said there was no answer.. no they are taking the michael big time. I said, I have wasted 2 days without pay and have to waste another day - three now in total to get my boiler fixed!

ARRRGGGHHHH!!!

Bloody british gas - Has anyone managed to get any compo out of these monkeys for loss of earning and the thought of any damaged (if there is any) to the bolier from the overheating in the flow?

I am not happy - 3 days of no pay (HGV Agengy), a pile of washing to do... and I want a shower!!!

To try to get compensation you have to write to a particular place. I know in SE London it's Mitcham you have to write too. If you phone up British Gas Sevice line again & ask them where you need to address official complaints to they should be able to give you the answer.

Good luck. Some years ago I was messed about by an engineer cancelling visits at the 13th hour on 2 seperate occasions after I'd already taken the time off work to be home. I didn't get anywhere with my complaint though, it all fell on deaf ears sadly & I gave up in the end as it just stressed me out too much trying to get anywhere.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Yep, I got about £220 in lost earnings from them. Took quite a few phone calls and then nearly a month for the cheque to arrive, but i did get it.
