Ask the insurer if it will accept a joint application for buildings insurance on a solely owned/mortgaged property. All in my name Kings , but i think weighing it all up both names would be the best way to insure b&c
I suspect they will not accept, as your spouse has no insurable interest.I am a mortgage broker. Ok , but i will be going for b&c so she will have an interest ?Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

She has an interest in the contents, so contents insurance should be jointly applicable.
However, she has no interest in the property, so joint cover may not be permissible.

If they're a married couple it's arguable that she does have an insurable interest0

Dan-Dan if you popped your clogs and left this mortal coil would your wife get the house?
Did she pay anything towards the deposit? Does she pay towards the mortgage?
I would say she does have financial interest in it (but if you are in doubt check with individual insurers).
Hopefully she won't try to bump you off anytime soon to inherit - only joking. 0 - only joking. 0

Just do as she says mate........if you don't, her divorce lawyer might be the one who shows you the extent of her financial interest in the bricks & mortar !:beer:0

I've put this to a couple of our insurers for an opinion.
