Barclaycard 2nd balance transfer 0% term ends before original one?

Hello everyone,

Was looking for the subject on MSE but seems quite specific!
See I took out a Barclaycard 0% BT deal in June this year which lasts for 25 months, this was transferred form a card I was paying interest on, this is all ok until I had some un planned expenditure on my RBS card on which I was paying interest. I have been offered an additional 0% deal on my Barclaycard which only lasts until April 2014, my question is, if I move the RBS debt to the 0% until April deal what will happen? Will I have until this date to pay off the second debt then the remainder of the 25 month term to pay the original debt shift? What happens to payments etc?

I hope this is not too confusing, I may have explained things wrong but your help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance everyone! :)

  • Your question can be summarised as follows:

Do my payments reduce the 0% offer balance that...

    1. Started first, or
    2. Ends first

Since there are no T&Cs (that I can find anyway) on their website, and because the summary box says "for further details refer to the T&Cs", you'll need to consult your own that were sent a) with the card, and b) with the second 0% offer.

I wouldn't take the word of a stranger on an internet forum, so if you can't make sense of your own T&Cs* then maybe you should secure message Barclaycard for your answer?

    * The section you need is "allocation of payments" (or some such similar wording).
  • Hi,
Thank you for the response. I will check the t&c of my card and make contact with Barclaycard if I can't find the answer. This is all relatively new to me as I've only just started using credit cards in the past 6 months really! Thank you very much for the reply again!
  • It's the balance offer ending soonest
