Credit report help

Hi all,
Ill start with the long story short. 3 years ago we found out my mother ran up debts in mine and my brothers name. He reported her and I didnt (I'm the dumb one) I avoided credit report sites for fear of finding more debts that I didnt know about. Today though I finally signed up to noddle, sadly I found one debt I knew nothing about and two I did know of. These two debts, a loan and a credit card are listed as defaulted. How ever two years ago I arranged payment for these through a debt agency. When I went to the bank they told me they have no record of me at all. Should these still show as defaulted or should they have vanished by now? Should I report this for a notice of correction?
Thanks for your time guys

The defaults will stay on your credit history for 6 years from the date of default. Even though you paid the debt agency, the original default is correct.

Sorry to hear about your problems.

They were perfectly correct to put a default on your file as you (or in this case your mother) broke the original agreement.

This will stay on your file for 6 years from the date of the default. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about this. You could put a notice of correction, but without a crime reference number then it's just your word against theirs.
