Selling Shares

There doesn't seem to be much information from Money Saving Expert regarding selling shares. I have a few shares in four popular companies that I inherited. However, I need to find information on how to sell some of them, without incurring high costs. I just want to sell and do not wish to buy any new ones.

I take it you have share certificates.
Most banks will sell them for you although it will be dearer than having them in a nominee account.

Most online providers accept share certificates for free. You can then choose to sell the shares online, then withdraw the money.
If they are UK based listing, one of the cheapest providers is X-o

You might have capital gains issues if held for a while.0

Not sure if there is a reason why you don't want to buy more but if you haven't used your ISA allowance you could move them into a S&S ISA using HL.
Buy some funds and then sell them to realise the cash at a later date. Might be one of the cheapest ways to do it as the intial sale is free.
