have a read of this, under 20 staff so techincally no consultation required but its good practise and good evidence for the employer if taken to tribunal.

Thanks for that, but you're right in your earlier post - I'm still not really getting it! My question is why this role as opposed to others that could also equally be carried out by others? (my husband being one of them)
I will as advised get some further advise.
