got a shiny new mobile 1st of this month on the 3 deal thats been advertised everywhere. rubbish signal at home but as ive only ever had the cheapest payg phones a brand new contract erccson more than made up for that!
until i realised the battery cover didnt fit. so i called up (indian call centre of course grrrr) and they aranged for a courier to come and collect it to be fixed despite me sayin it not repairable unless they are going to reform the plastic lol i said there and then it needed replacing! anyway it comes back yesterday missing the battery they told me to send off with it and with an extra charger and nothing at all done to fix the problem and the reason why ive been without a phone for the past 5 days!
so i called last night saying i wanted to cancel the contract due to really bad service and signal and not trusting them as far as i can thow them!
i argued and argued for an hour. nothing. they are replacing the phone as a 'one off' which i pointed out they HAD to do anyway as it was sent to me faulty so that is the law not special customer service! i have had this phone 13days. 12 when i called and you CAN cancel under 14days due to signal however they said i invalidated that by using the phone.
how you are supposed to know if you get signal without the phone being used i dont know and they couldnt tell me either. £260 to cancel early madam.
so now for the next 17.5 months i am stuck 'using' this company which i wouldnt recommend to my worst enemy.
avoid at all costs. wish id stuck with virgin

I guess being in an 18 month contract with 3 is like having a child after a one night stand.0

I`m with you on this !
I joined 3 with phones4u earlier this year and wish I hadn`t !
The phone has been faulty ever since I got it and everytime I phone they tell me to take it the nokia centre to get it updated with the latest software (been twice already in 8 months!).. it turns itself off, the loudspeaker doesn`t work all the time and it freezes.... don`t think this is software related !
Went to phones4u and they said they only offer a 30 dat warranty and that it`s upto 3 now..
I hate 3 and phones4u and after my 18 months won`t be going back to them, I`ll be going back to orange !!Debt Free Jan 2010!(Be happy) the state of your life is nothing more than the state of your mind! X:j0 -
same here! seemed a great deal at the time, but once we'd bought a phone (£70) that would actually work for more than 10 minutes to replace the carp one they gave us - it wasn't really that much of a saving!0

helenathena the only time 3 listen to people is after they have complained to OFCOM.
However before you do that you need to put your complaint in a letter and send it to them recorded delivery as otherwise they will claim they didn't receive it. (Even if you use the PO box address). In your letter you need to make clear what English and Welsh law they have broken, ask them to reply to you within 14 days and warn them that you will take the matter further.
Once you receive a text message from them saying your issue is closed then you can phone OFCOM and complain. 3 generally close issues after 2 telephone call "attempts"* or after 10 days.
* This is where one of a customer service operator phones you up and immediately you answer they put the phone down. When you query them they say you didn't pick the phone up even if you have 2 people next to you who can verify that you picked up the phone after the 2nd ring.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
