Hi

I'm trying to decide whether to take up the Npower Price Protector tariff . I'm an existing customer and from their quote I see that I would be paying an extra £85 per year (9.65%) on the new tariff. I am a long time Npower customer and I am likley to stay that way. I check every now and then on a possible switch but very rarely find any tariifs that save me a significant amount. Reading on the net about possible price rises over the next few years seems to make this a real option. Can I ask if any other existing customers are taking up deal?

Many thanks

  • Not an existing customer but if its only 10% difference from what you are paying at the moment I would jump at the offer. They are predicting 10% increase in the next few weeks so locking in for the next 4 winters at that price seems a no brainer.

Again, I am not an existing customer, but am very likely to take up this offer. This is despite the fact that the comparison sites show that my bills will go up by 29.6% compared to what I am paying now. This might not seem good value right now, but I think that it will seem a bargain once the next round of price hikes has come in. I also like the fact that it has no exit penalties, so if the next increases are not that high, and there is a better long term fix offered by someone else, I can jump ship.
  • Thanks for the replies. Any other forum members going for this Npower fix deal?

I'm an Npower customer & I'm going for the Price protector March 2017 deal as the Go Fix 12 deal I was on has just finished. I'm betting that there will be big energy price rises again over the next few years so I'm getting on the tariff now as if the rises do come the tariff will no doubt disappear.

If I'm wrong about all this, with no exit fees I can easily "jump ship" at any time to whatever seems to be a better deal. Basically, I reckon if you don't get on this early you might not get on at all, the GoFix deal I was on worked for me so I'll give this a go for a while. :D

Energy Saving Champion I've been Money Tipped!
I started to switch to npower about 7weeks ago did it on line via energyhelpline got a e-mail confirmation then heard nothing from them.
I then phoned to be told they had not received my application but took details and said they would start the switch andI would get a letter in 10 days.
Fast forward 2 weeks and still no letter phoned again no record of my previous call and my switch had not been started.
I decided that if my experience was a taste of what was to come then npower was not for me.I contacted M and S energy and am in the process of switching to them.
Before you switch to npower google npower problems.
  • Thanks everyone for your posts. Anymore with opinions on this tariff?
  • its the longest fixed out there at the moment, if your serious about getting this one, don't leave it too long as it may be pulled,
