Gas & Electricity Rates
Is anyone else having trouble sorting out a new energy deal? My EDF 'Blue' Duel Fuel Fixed Price September 2013 is ending in a few days. It is a complete nightmare trying to work out the best offer, there are so many variations between the unit prices, daily standing charge & discounts or in a few cases a new customer enticement fee. I cannot decide if it is better to have higher or lower standing charges versus lower priced units.
Having read the recent Posts I totally agree that the energy company computers give inaccurate estimates even taking into account any discounts. I thought the tariffs were supposed to have been simplified.

Just as complex as ever...use a few different comparison sites and compare the results...manually adding up the final choice to see if it tallies to the advertised rates.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.0 -
If you know your annual usage you can get the best deal on comparison websites. Of course, this assumes your usage won't change, which is true for most people in the case of electricity but then gas changes based on how harsh the winter is. So it's worth checking not only your annual usage but also a bit above and a bit below that (for whichever fuel you use for heating).0
