Hi,

I finished a DMP in March this year, and have defaults back from July 2009. Im aware these stay on file for 6 years. My question is, is there anything I can do to help rebuild my credit?? Are these cards like Vanquish a good idea? And if so whats the chances of getting one? Should you wait a certain amount of time before applying for one?

Thanks in advance.

  • Yes - a card (Vanquis, aqua, cap one), if used correctly would help give you some positive credit history. Use it regularly and pay it off in full each month.
  • I echo what zx81 has said about the getting either 1 of the 3 credit builder cards. They start with low credit limits and the interest rate is high but if you use it at least once a month for say either fuel or shopping and pay it off in full each month the interest shouldn't really be a problem
