Contract hire - sole trader question

Hi,
We have a PCP deal which ends soon, and prior to that had a private contract hire. I know that most deals are quoted excluding VAT as a business deal, but then that usually you can add the VAT to get a personal price.
However, we've seen occasionally deals which aren't available to personal users at all. So today, went into main dealer, and they had such a deal. Business only, no option to just add VAT to get personal price.
But he didn't see this as an issue, he said when filling in paperwork, just specify that we are a 'sole trader' (we aren't), that he's done this many times, including for his wife.
Now, sounds a bit dodgy to me, but I'm not really sure hence the post. I did ask him what the ramifications are of doing this but of course he said it won't matter at all. Is there anything I should be aware of? Sorry if this is a stupid question I'm generally very knowledgeable about money matters but am a little stumped by this. Hate buying cars and never feel I can trust any car salesmen!
