We are getting a new kitchen in a couple of weeks and need to provide the fitter with a new set of wall sockets, where is the cheapest place to buy them? They have the ones we like in Homebase/B&Q but I find them a bit expensive?
Thanks
Thanks

Try screwfix, tool station and wickes. You can compare on all three websites and see which one is cheaper.
B&Q and homebase are very expensive.
You could buy from ebay too but I wouldn't recommend it as you don't know who is selling what, atleast these companies are good.0 -
I second Wickes as when I lived in my last house & bought sockets from them, they had offers on for when you buy over a certain amount, which made them even more competitive. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Just don't spoil the shop for a ha'porth of tar!Alisha2008 wrote: »We are getting a new kitchen in a couple of weeks and need to provide the fitter with a new set of wall sockets, where is the cheapest place to buy them? They have the ones we like in Homebase/B&Q but I find them a bit expensive?

I'm sure your electrician will love you when you present him/her with the cheapest sockets that money can buy.
And don't blame the electrician if they all start going wrong after a few months. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
I've never had an electrician ask me to get the parts. Why doesn't he get them trade price? At least then he'll know he's got the right depth boxes etc.0

i second the suggestion of asking the electrician about buying the sockets...we recently upgraded our standard sockets and actually got a very good price from the electrician as part and parcel of the whole job.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Go for the MK range on Screwfix, very good value for money and built to last.
The Great Declutter Challenge - £876

If you want bog standard, buy bog standard, ebay are not bad either, but if you want it to look a bit different, you'll have to pay more

I bought all the switches and sockets and materials and just had a price for labour when i did the flat up, and I got mine from Screwfix. It was cheaper even if I did have some left over - which I ebayed later on.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
