  • Hi all,

I've just tried to submit the appeal on the POPLA site and the verification number is coming up as invalid.
Has anyone heard of that before?
The code was sent in an email from the Operator.

    Regards.

Send it by post with a certificate of posting and a copy of the email with the POPLA code that isn't accepted. That gets it in at least.

Email POPLA as well with a complaint that their system isn't accepting the PPC's POPLA code, attaching the relevant section of the PPC's email with the POPLA code.

One of the b*****s is in trouble!
  • Thanks for the reply.

I don't have an "appeal form", will that matter, do you think?
So, just post in the appeal as is?

    TIA.
    Regards.

Put the POPLA reference on each page as well. If the POPLA reference turns out to be wrong and POPLA give you an alternative or get their system sorted out, submit it through the online system as well.

But do get an answer as to why the number is not accepted. Probably worth emailing the PPC as well telling them of the problem and asking them to chack their number.

Ha ha, that seems very polite.
"Forum gurus" it is, for now.
Some good news :j; My POPLA code, magically, worked this morning, after emailing the PPC. Maybe they'd forgotten to press a button or something.
So, the Appeal is now submitted and it's time to sit back and see what happens.
Many thanks to all of the Forum Gurus :T
I'll let you know the outcome in due course.

    Well done. :T:T

It's clear POPLA don't want to address any other issue when GPEOL presents itself.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I think the one-line, single point appeal needs to be left for the experienced, well versed and extremely determined (and prepared to take it through the full legal process if necessary) like Parking Prankster.

For everyone else, as many relevant POPLA points as possible. Blunderbuss, yes, but leave the keyhole precision work to the surgeons on here :)

Actually, I do disagree quite strongly with your point of view.
I think you're, maybe, confusing victims and making the whole experience bigger than it should be. I would have been quite happy to go with this 1 point and test it - there is no way they could get away with it.
Simplicity is the King with anything.
And if POPLA did knock it back, then, I would have laughed - with a clenched fist :)
I don't care about going to court, I've been to small claims a few times and found it fine. The whole point is that if it does go to court - keep it simple and make it easy for the judge to make a decision.
Just deal in facts that the judge can decide on.
