Velux windows and insulation

Hi, I don't know much about Velux windows. We have 3 in total. 2 in bedrooms and 1 on the landing. What I would like to know is do they lose loads of heat? They have the Velux blinds fitted but they are very thin. Just thinking that they take a fair size chunk from the area of roof in each room, knowing that roofs are insulated, can you insulate Velux windows? Can't say I can imagine what it would look like. Any thoughts welcome and thanks in advance.

No you cannot insulate a Velux window. Roof insulation would normally achieve a u-value of 0.18W/m2K. Windows (including Velux's) achieve a u-value of 1.6W/m2K. This is a minimum Building Regulation requirement. Velux would not sell non-compliant windows.
Why not give Velux a call and ask the question?
Obviously the heat loss is better when they're closed than open
