Peugeot warranty. Help needed please.
Options
Hi everyone, I'm after a bit of advice.
bought a Peugeot 308 automatic about 6 month ago. The car is still under manufactures warranty. Runs out end of this month.
It developed a fault on the gearbox, took it to the garage it was bought at, they said to take it to Peugeot dealer as still under warranty.
Peugeot dealer have now had my car for 4 weeks. I wasn't given a courtesy car as they don't have automatics in their fleet, just manual. (no good for me as I have artheritis)
the Peugeot dealer keeps emailing Peugeot to find out what to do....try this...try that...try the other... told probably needs new gearbox £3,500 the garage say they can only do what Peugeot says,
I phoned Peugeot customer care line, a manager will get back in touch. Over a week later still no phone call from Peugeot.
As I have now been without a car for 4 weeks, despite having told them I need the car for hospital appointments.
Was told last Wednesday they would hire me an automatic, from enterprise car hire. Next day phone call saying they were setting up account should have car last Thursday or Friday.
Here we are today, still no word on my car or the hire car.
I'm getting nowhere fast with regular phone calls.
The 6 month service is now overdue and the first mot due end of the month. I think 4 weeks is long enough to sort out a car
If anybody has any idea where I should start with a complaint or advice I would love to hear. Thanks for reading

Contact Peugeot Head office and kick up a massive stink? This should be your first call.
Secondly speak to the garage you purchased from and suggest you will be looking to reject the car, as they've been given ample time to remedy the issue. Technically they haven't but start turning the screw, as they sold the car and it's their issue - why aren't they providing a loan car?0 -
About 6 months. Is that under or over 6 months?
Things like this happen. Because you didnt buy it from the dealer they are probably less willing to be out of pocket.
Sometimes a fault is hard to trace.
Not helpful, But i am not sure where you go next. They are trying to fix it.
But are they shunting it to the back of the line when their customers cars are coming in? Or awaiting parts from Peugeot?
Do the mechanics have a clue on how the gearbox works. Sounds silly but there are some that only know howto plug a computer in and read the codes.
Code says gearbox fault. Then they are stumped on what to do to test to see if its the box or something causing the box to show a fault.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thanks for replies.
car was purchased less than 6 months ago.
went back to garage where it was purchased they said as it was still under manufacture warranty they sent us to Peugeot dealer, which is about 1/2 mile from their garage.
already taken up with customer care at Peugeot, after a week still waiting for them to get back to us.
Going to dealer again tomorrow, will kick up a stink once again, this is really not acceptable.
have run old cars for years, this was a treat for us after 25 years of older cars, will never buy a newer car again.
Thanks for feed back.0
