Personal Contract Hire on cars over 9 years old?

Hi, I am looking at a Personal Contract Hire deal but the company I am using won’t do it if the car is over 9 years old when you return it.

Does anyone know a company that will do Personal Contract Hire on cars older than 9 years old?

I am looking at a 2004 Ferrari 360 for £40,000 for ideally 24 months but this would make the car 11 years old when the agreement is over.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

  • Are you serious.....maybe try a secured bank loan.

  • The reason i want PCH is because i don’t want to own the car at the end of the 24 months which you would with a loan.

Selling a car like that with no dealer perks e.g finance, warranty is nearly impossible!

I would say buying one on a PCH will be near impossible as well !

Edit...you can buy a 468 on a PCH....Initital payment £25,000 and £4100 a month...you would end up paying £119,300 though....maybe a bank loan and sell it to a trader and take the hit.

    Problem solved...buy a 468 instead.

You can't afford the car. If you have to PCP this in order to afford it I doubt the servicing and repair costs on a 10 year old, highly strung, temperamental, not to mention out of warranty, Italian thoroughbred will make it any better.

    Cash is king.
  • There are a few leasing specialists for this type of car - there'll be a balloon at the end of the two years so you effectively won't own the car - does that help ?

You need to look very carefully at your budget as that feels too little money for a decent car - investigate specialist websites & buyers guides to make sure you know what you are getting yourself into

If it is this much of a stretch, personally, I would join one of these clubs where you pay a subscription and you get so many days use of a super car in the year.

Then just buy something you can afford for the rest of the time. After all do you really need a 360 as a daily driver?

The 360 would not be his daily driver though.

He will be driving a courtesy car from the garage its in for repair for a fair bit of that time.

That might explain why they won't do PCH on it as they don't want to be stuck with it either.

Could you afford to insure it? That usually puts paid to initial inclinations, however just as you don't want to own it, neither would a finance house for the reason of its value - based on the published guides, not what a collector might boost it by.
