Manchester Aiport ?

On my last visit it was hellish, getting through border control took 90mins and collecting bags another hour and they managed to send one bag to malta

Last night it took about 5 mins to clear customs and get my bags, I was so shocked I walked straight past my taxi driver.

Well done Manc apirport staff :T

Back in May it took me 3 and a half hours to get through Dallas's Airports border control! Just to add getting back out at Heathrow I think was only about 5 minutes as well.

I have had some great times getting out of the airport recently, mind you sometimes you walk so far between gate and passport control it seemd quicker than it probably is LOL.

Man is very hit and miss. I don't think they can plan their staff properly. Last time, we were checked in, through security & passport control with virtually no queues at all yet it was peak time (early morning weekend), but when we returned two weeks later (evening), the queues were horrendous for passport control (an hour), then we had to wait over an hour at the luggage carousel (2 hours after landing before any came through). No logic at all to their staffing levels.

I feel your pain, I flew into Logan airport a couple of weeks after 9/11 that was an interesting and time consuming experience getting barked at by the customs people. Couple of weeks earlier it was akin to boarding a bus.

!!!!!! I was hoping it might be a permanent change, surely they know how many flights are landing and when, so they can schedule the number of staff needed?

I think it was more due to the fact for the entire of Dallas/Fort Worth Airport there were only 2 customs people checking international arrivals passports!

I agree that Manchester airport is very hit and miss.

We've had long hold- ups at passport control, with one particular guy barking at individuals and shouting at queues. We were appalled at the way lots of Indian passengers were spoken to in March.

However, last time we flew in we were through in no time.
