Service Intervals for aging car??

My 2.2D 2008 Toyota Avensis has done a tad over 110k and is fast approaching the 111.8k limit after which I understand Toyota will not entertain warranty claims for the known problem (see post #17 here...

)
Until now I've dutifully had it serviced every 10k by Mr T (no complaints). Car still drives perfect (bit noisy in transmission/hubs somewhere but NFF), next to no oil usage, performance fine etc etc.. So probably I'll bung it in a cheaper local guy quite soon... but...
Thoughts on would you stick to 10k service interval or maybe go to 20k with oil/filter change every 10k. Car can't be worth that much (bit tatty, 08 2.2D manual h/b) & I can afford (but would prefer to avoid..) having to buy a half-decent replacement if this one goes bang...
Regards & thanks in advance

Stick with the 10,000 mile (or 12 months which ever comes first) oil and oil filter as a minimum, either get a local garage or change it yourself. The engine will love you forever."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0

Had a look at your link. I couldn't see the potential cause of this though.
Anything that has "carbon deposits" as an issue though generally sounds like low speed driving i.e. taxis and people who bought a diesel but only drive to Tesco and back.
Sounds like you actually do some miles so is it as big an issue for motorway cruisers?
I would concur with the above though, keep with the oil changes. I am sure your engine is in great condition. Might well be your car doesn't get these problems at all and could have another 100k or more left in it!What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
Oil and Filter every 10k miles for me with an annual check up just before MOT.0

Toyota usually alternate their services anyway, one year its basically an oil change and inspection, the following year its another oil change plus full service incl full brake strip.
So your 20k plan with 10k oil changes is right on the money.
If the CHG gives trouble it shouldn't be a bank breaker so long as you catch it early enough.
Unless it ends up drinking a gallon a week i wouldn't worry too much about a bit of extra oil consumption.0 -
Drop the oil changes to every 6000 - 8000 miles. And the engine will be much happier.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

110K miles is not old at all to be honest. Should still run like new.0
