Special Delivery item gone missing - Resolved

I'm not saying that, I'm saying that they are incompetant and should have done their job properly.
My last paragraph was just a hypothetical situation showing that, for me, having items delivered to my office would give me more protection against theft, than having them delivered at home.0 -

Of course they should. I've made mistakes at my job, I'm sure you've made mistakes too. Postmen will make mistakes.0 -

There's no way that, with a perfectly addressed parcel, as it was, that a postman wouldn't know where my office is. It's been here for the past 30 years, is in a normal street (not an industrial area), and has a huge sign at the entrance saying the name of the company and the first line of the address!
I did wonder if, with disgruntled posties over the privatisation of RM, the postie was hoping to take the parcel, but found out that we had CCTV footage, so came up with a story about it being an invalid address/delivered incorrectly.
I'm just glad that I didn't need the video camera for the weekend.
Sorry,just had to highlight this

Mistakes happen, it's human error. If it was handed back to the same postie on the same day, then the scans would show this. Each time it's scanned leaves a log, so RM would be able to check this.
Please don't think the postie is lazy or incompetent for a simple error. Although I don't think I ever done it, I've got to someone's door, certain I had a parcel for them, knocked on the door, then realised it was for a totally different number. Thankfully no one was home on the couple of occasions I did it :rotfl: Got a number stuck in my head and it was only the double checking that caught it4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
This was just a mistake, it got sorted out. Posties carry hundreds, maybe thousands of letters. I would imagine it's very easy to post something to the wrong house, even when everything is perfectly labeled.0

Of course people make mistakes, that's what makes us human. All I'm saying is that, whilst mis-deliveries can be tolerated with standard post, you would have thought that a Special Delivery would have been handled as the name suggests, in a 'Special' way, after all, that's what the seller is paying for.
Custardy - I was only repeating what I've read in the papers about Royal Mail staff not being happy with the sell-off but, of course, can't justify this, so sorry if I offended any posties.0 -

You weren't repeating what you read
its crazy but people generally aren't keen on the possibility of losing their job
You made up a whole scenario to go with it that meant the postie has now decided to turn to crime because of this0 -
I can't believe that the OP, upon being notified that the problem has been identified and is being rectified, is intent on finding further hidden meaning in the events that have occured, when there are almost certainly none. Untrusting or what!?0

This post is "special".0 -
Felt I really had to come on today and appologise for my posts yesterday.
It wasn't a good day and I really shouldn't have been posting in the mood I was in.
So sorry if I offended anyone.0
