Trying to reclaim PPI from Barclaycard

Hi there, just wanting some advice. I have had an account with Barclaycard for 15 years. I was unaware of the fact that I was paying ppi. I completed an online template to reclaim and have received a response from Barclaycard stating that my application for PPI was submitted by post (no proof given) and therefore they did not give me any advice, and will not pay out.
As explained to them, I was made redundant 2 years ago and would have used this service had I known I was paying for it!!
Not sure what my next step should be?

The ppi would have been on every monthly statement that you received from Barclaycard so I cant see how you didn't know you had it.
If it was applied for by post, then it was not advised, you must have ticked the box.
Obviously your mistake if you didn't claim on it when you were made redundant.
What year was the card taken out.
Yu could ask them for a copy of the original agreement.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

So, for 15 years (or 180 statements) you have paid it without knowing despite it being on the statement? From a credibility point of view, that doesnt sound very credible. Not unless you are very poor at money management and dont look at your statements. If you have paid PPI for 15 years then it means you have borrowed money on your card for 15 years and that is definitely not good management. Your failure to claim on the policy is not BC's fault. However, they may well consider a retrospective claim. Some do, some dont. Not sure what my next step should be?
There is nothing wrong with having PPI. That is not the issue. The issue is whether you were mis-sold it or not. As you bought via post, there would be no-one actually selling it to you.
