Building Notice Procedure

Hi,
Wondering if someone could enlighten me to the Building Notice Procedure.
We are looking at getting a number of works done to the house but no-one is yet in place for all of the works.
The works are:
1- Remove asbestos garage and replace with timber garage. It is within 1m of boundary so hopingt his is okay if I put plasterboard on the boundry wall to make it fire retardant?
2- Knock through bathroom and toilet wall to create a larger bathroom.
3- Knock through living room and hall wall to create larger living room.
4- Take out U-Shaped staircase and wall and replace with straight staircase.
5- Take out back living room window and replace with patio doors.
6- Board out loft and insulate under roof and plasterboard for storage, relocate loft hatch in to office bedroom with wooden loft ladder which will be down semi-permanently.
7- Rewire of house, electric to garage.
Will also be relocating some radiators due to knocking some walls down where there are currently radiators.
I want to start (1) as soon as possible, and most of the other work in a month or two but it may take several months in order to do it all.
Do I fill out a building notice application listing all the works? What do I put under commencement date? Various? Do I just do a building notice application for (1) for now? I don't yet have anyone in place to do the various works but on the application form it says main contractor?
Any help would be great.
Thanks.

A Building Notice will be fine for those works. As for BR fees, they'll be calculated on an estimated cost of work so if you have an idea as to how much those works will cost, then use the LABC's fees sheets to determine the fees.
As for the commencement date, just put ASAP.
If you put it all on one form, you'll get one completion certificate. And it'll be cheaper combining the works on one form than splitting them up.
Bear in mind even though you're looking at going down the BN route that LABC can request additional information to satisfy the regulations. You will have to make sure any electrical work is carried out by a Part P Certified person, unless you want the electrical installations to be checked my LABC themselves.
You may also need a structural engineer who will provide details/calculations for any works (e.g. knock throughs) to load bearing walls.0
