Recommendations for SAD lamp

Does anyone use one of these lamps and have a make/model that they can recommend?
I know that there are different measures of the kind/intensity of light that they use but get a bit bogged down in all the various claims from manufacturers.

how about this one for starters?

I have a Philips HF3330 goLite. A bit expensive but it works very well.
You have to be careful because some don't emit the correct frequency light. LED's are the safe bet IMO.0 -

Gulp! that is quite a bit more than I was hoping to pay....but then again, I am dubious about trying to get one really cheap as it may just not do the job!0 -
£153 on Amazon or £110 for the 3320 model

If you have a SAD diagnosis then you should be able to get it VAT free.0 -
thanks for the info.
No diagnosis....just years of hating the dark winter months and have always thought to give one of the lamps a go.0 -
don`t bother with a sad lamp, just get biobulbs and put them everywhere you can

they are still energy saving but are full spectrum. At least put one where you sit the most0 -

This one talks about '10,000 lux' of light....is that what is needed?0 -
I have had a Lumie Desk Lamp for about 8 years and love it. Just looked at their website and the design is different now but I assume it is similar.
I position it close to where I sit with the computer and I am sure it helps. It also gives excelent light for reading and and keeps 'my corner' nice and warm

Just came across this. Bodykind have a 10% off SAD lamps plus their usual cashback on purchases at TopCashBack. Might be worth a look. The offer runs out on the 18th September.
SAD lamps are meant to useful at readjusting the body clock after changing time zones when flying.0 -
10,000 lux is how strong the light should be to be effective.
Have a look at this list: http://www.sad.org.uk/recommended.php
These models have been tested and proved effective. You could look on eBay for pre-owned models. I got a Litepod via eBay for £15 plus postage a no-one else was bidding.0 -
